This topic describes how to view and modify the validation objects of configured data validation tasks.
Background information
For data validation tasks in the Not Started, Paused, Failed, or Completed state, you can add or remove objects to be validated. Each modification is recorded.
After you modify the objects to be validated, the data validation task updates its allowlist and blocklist based on the new objects, and updates the list of objects to be validated. However, the status of the data validation task remains unchanged. The changes take effect only when you manually start or resume the data validation task.
View the objects to be validated
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, select Data Services > Data Validation.
On the Data Validation page, click ... > View Objects next to the target task.
You can also click the name of the target task to go to the details page, and then click ... > View Objects in the upper-right corner.
In the View Objects dialog box, view the Validation Objects and Modification History tabs.
On the Validation Objects tab, you can view the migration objects or matching rules for the current task. You can also add or remove objects to be validated.
On the Modification History tab, you can view the modification time and status of all object modification operations.
Modify the validation objects selected through specifying objects
Add validation objects
On the Validation page, click ... > View Objects after the target task.
You can also click ... in the upper-right corner of the details page of the target task and then choose View Objects.
In the View Objects dialog box, click Add Object in the upper-right corner of the Validation Objects tab.
On the Add Object > Select Object page, select the tables to be added and click > to add them to the right list.
After you select the validation objects to be added, you can rename the table objects and set row filtering for the table objects. You can also view column information.
Notice
After you select the validation objects to be added, you cannot set row filtering for row count validation tasks.
The added objects will inherit all configurations from the original data validation task. If you terminate the operation during the addition, you need to manually delete the added objects in the target database.
After the selection is complete, click Next. The system automatically performs a pre-check on the added objects.
After all checks pass, click OK.
After the addition of objects starts, records are generated on the View Objects > Modification History page. You can enter this page to view the details of the records. The status of an added object record can be Pending Execution, Canceled, Modifying, Success, or Failed. Different operations are supported based on the status of the modification record. Please follow the instructions on the page.
Remove validation objects
On the Validation page, click ... > View Objects after the target task.
You can also click ... in the upper-right corner of the details page of the target task and then choose View Objects.
In the View Objects dialog box, click Remove Object in the upper-right corner of the Validation Objects tab.
In the Remove Object dialog box, click the Remove icon next to the tables that do not need to be validated and add them to the left list.
After the selection is complete, click OK.
In the confirmation dialog box, confirm that the objects to be removed are correct and click OK.
Notice
Once objects are removed, they cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution.
The removal of objects is either fully successful or fully failed.
After the removal of objects starts, records are generated on the View Objects > Modification History page. You can enter this page to view the details of the records. The status of a removed object record can be Pending Execution, Canceled, Modifying, Success, or Failed. Different operations are supported based on the status of the modification record. Please follow the instructions on the page.
Modify the validation objects selected through matching by rule
Go to the View Objects dialog box.
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, select Data Services > Data Validation.
On the Data Validation page, click ... next to the target task and select View Objects.
You can also click the name of the target task to go to its details page, and then click ... in the upper-right corner and select View Objects.
In the View Objects dialog box, click Modify Rules in the lower-right corner.
You can also click Preview to view the current validation objects selected for the data validation task.
In the Modify Rules dialog box, modify the matching rules for the migration objects to add or remove objects.
Click Validate. After the validation is successful, you can click Preview Objects to view the matching results.
Click Next: Confirm Changes.
When you add objects, the system will perform a pre-check on the added objects.
When you remove objects, the specific objects to be removed will be displayed on the page.
After the pre-check is successful or you have confirmed that the objects to be removed are correct, click Submit.
After the modification operation starts, records will be generated on the View Objects > Modification History page. You can enter this page to view the details of the records.
