Overview

This topic describes the billing methods and billing items of OceanBase Cloud.

Billing methods

OceanBase Cloud offers two billing methods: Subscription and Pay-as-you-go.

• Subscription

  You pay for the compute resources of the database instance when you create the instance. You can choose to use fixed storage or specify the storage size.

• Pay-as-you-go

  You do not need to pay for the compute resources when you create the instance. You can choose to use fixed storage or specify the storage size. The compute resources and storage space of the instance are billed on an hourly basis, and the fees are deducted from your account on an hourly basis.

  Note

  • OceanBase Database bills you for the hours of the current hour at the beginning of each hour. If you use the instance beyond the current hour, you will be charged for the next hour. Please monitor your account balance and recharge in time to avoid service interruption due to insufficient balance, which may affect your business.
  • When you choose Pay-as-you-go billing, please ensure that your account balance is sufficient to proceed with the order.
  • OceanBase Cloud allows you to pause instances billed on a Pay-as-you-go basis. During the pause period, no charges are incurred for the compute resources, but charges are applied for the storage and backup space occupied by the instance.

Billing items

The billing items of OceanBase Cloud include:

• Instance billing: This includes transactional, analytical, and key-value instances. For more information, see Instance billing.

• Backup and restore billing: The space occupied by backup files is divided into data backup and log backup. The fees for data backup and log backup are the same. For more information, see Backup and restore billing.

• SQL audit billing: For more information, see SQL audit billing.

• Database proxy service billing: OceanBase Cloud provides a network proxy service between the database and the application. The billing standards for the database proxy service are as follows:

  • Public IP address: Free for a limited period.

  • Read/write IP address: Free for a limited period.
