This topic describes the scenarios and operation process of performance assessment.

Performance assessment

After data migration in the OceanBase Cloud console, you can perform thorough performance assessment before switching your business applications to OceanBase Database.

The operation process is as follows:

1. Obtain the traffic file of the database instance.

2. Create a performance assessment task.

   A performance assessment task can be of the following types: Full Assessment, SQL File Parsing, and SQL File Replay. You can select a task type based as needed. For more information, see Create a performance assessment task.

3. Start the performance assessment task.

4. After the performance assessment task is completed, a load replay report is generated.

Scenarios

• Perform performance assessment on OceanBase Database by replaying application workloads after migrating data from a MySQL instance to OceanBase Database.

• During off-peak hours of a pre-production or production cluster, you can perform stress testing on business changes or bottlenecks to assess the performance of OceanBase Database.
