Alibaba Cloud backup and restore billing
For Alibaba Cloud, the available backup option is local backup. The local backup involves storage costs, including the costs of data backup and log backup.

Free quota
Currently, instances are provided with a certain amount of free backup quota.
When the backup usage capacity (the sum of data backup and log backup capacities) is less than 50% of the storage capacity of a single node (the largest storage node is selected as the basis, ignoring inconsistencies in node storage), and the retention period does not exceed 7 days, the backup capacity is free. If the backup files exceed 50% of the storage capacity of a single node or the backup data exceeds 7 days, the excess part will be charged based on the hourly rate.
Example:
Assume you purchase a cluster instance in the ap-shanghai region of Tencent Cloud, with a maximum single-node storage capacity of 1000 GiB (backup capacity free quota of 500 GiB). The backup strategy is set to perform backups at 3:00 AM daily. The first backup is initiated on Monday, 2023-12-04, at 03:00 and completed on the same day at 04:50, with a backup usage capacity of 100 GiB. The system will calculate the cost at 05:00. The second backup is completed on Tuesday, 2023-12-05, at 04:50, with a backup capacity of 100 GiB. The third backup is completed on Wednesday, 2023-12-06, at 04:50, with a backup capacity of 100 GiB. This pattern continues, with 100 GiB of backup data generated each day. Once the total backup capacity exceeds the free quota of 500 GiB or the backup retention period exceeds 7 days, the excess part will be charged based on the hourly rate.
The billing details for the first 10 days are as follows:
