This topic describes the pricing and billing of read-only replicas in OceanBase Cloud.

The pricing of read-only replicas is the same as that of a single replica of an instance. For more information about the pricing of an instance, see Instance billing.
Background information
The supported billing method of OceanBase Cloud international site is pay-as-you-go (postpaid). You can purchase read-only replicas for instances or tenants. The specification of a read-only replica is the same as that of an instance. You can specify the number of nodes and the storage size of a read-only replica as needed.
The total cost of a read-only replica is calculated as follows: total cost of a read-only replica = cost of the read-only replica specification + cost of the read-only replica storage. The final price of the purchased item depends on the billing mode, series, region, deployment plan, node specification, number of nodes, storage type, and storage size.
Billing
The total cost of a read-only replica is calculated as follows: total cost of a read-only replica = cost of the read-only replica specification + cost of the read-only replica storage. The final price of the purchased item depends on the region, node specification, number of nodes, and billing duration.
Read-only replicas under the pay-as-you-go mode
- Cost of the read-only replica specification = pay-as-you-go price of the specification * number of nodes * billing duration
- Cost of the read-only replica storage = pay-as-you-go price of storage * storage size of a single node * number of nodes * billing duration
Examples
Assume that you purchased an instance under the pay-as-you-go mode on January 1, 2023. The region of the instance is Hong Kong. You created a read-only replica for the instance on January 16, 2023. The specification of the read-only replica is 4 vCPU cores and 16 GiB of memory, and the number of nodes is 2. The storage size is 50 GiB. The instance is released on February 1, 2023. The read-only replica is released on the same day. Therefore, the billing duration of the read-only replica is 15 days.
The following information can be obtained:
- Cost of the read-only replica specification = 0.459833 * 2 * 15 * 24 = 331.07976
- Cost of the read-only replica storage = 0.000042 * 50 * 2 * 15 * 24 = 1.512
The total cost of the read-only replica is as follows:
Total cost of the read-only replica = 331.07976 + 1.512 = 332.59176
