Authorize an Alibaba Cloud account

This topic describes how to authorize an Alibaba Cloud account and bind the Alibaba Cloud main account ID on the Instances page of OceanBase Cloud.

Limitations

Only users with the Project Owner or Project Admin role can authorize Alibaba Cloud accounts.
Alibaba Cloud account authorization is a whitelist feature and may be deprecated in the future. If you need to use this feature, contact technical support.

Authorize an Alibaba Cloud account

Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
On the Instances page, click ... > View Alibaba Cloud Account Authorization in the upper-right corner.

If you have not created an instance, click ... > View Alibaba Cloud Account Authorization in the Create Instance section.
In the Alibaba Cloud Account Authorization dialog box, enter the Alibaba Cloud Account ID, Alibaba Cloud Account AccessKey ID, and Alibaba Cloud Account Access Key Secret of the account to be authorized. For more information, see the "Obtain the Alibaba Cloud account information" section below.
After the information is entered, click OK.

After the authorization is completed, when you create an Alibaba Cloud data source (including OceanBase MySQL Compatible and OceanBase Oracle Compatible), you can select an instance authorized across accounts. For more information, see Create a data source.

Note

After you create a cross-account data source, a security group named obcloud_dataservice_access is automatically created under your instance.

Obtain the Alibaba Cloud account information

Log in to the Alibaba Cloud console with the Alibaba Cloud account to be authorized.
Hover over the user avatar in the upper-right corner of the page.
Obtain the ID and AccessKey ID of the Alibaba Cloud account.
- Click the copy icon next to Account ID and paste the ID into the Alibaba Cloud Account ID field in the Alibaba Cloud Account Authorization dialog box.
- Click AccessKey Management and copy the AccessKey ID from the AccessKey page. Then, paste the AccessKey ID into the Alibaba Cloud Account AccessKey ID field in the Alibaba Cloud Account Authorization dialog box.
