This topic describes the pricing and billing details for OceanBase Cloud's Migrations service.
Overview
OceanBase Cloud's Migrations service provides online data migration and long-term synchronization. Migrations supports the pay-as-you-go billing method where users pay based on generated billing orders. The pricing of Migrations varies slightly depending on the cloud vendor region of the source/target selected for the data migration task, the instance specifications used for the task, and the network method used. For specific prices, see "Billing instructions".
Notice
The forward and reverse tasks of a bidirectional synchronization task are billed separately. That is, if both the forward and reverse tasks are running simultaneously, the total fees will be the sum of the fees for both tasks.

Billing items
OceanBase Cloud's Migrations supports the pay-as-you-go billing method with the following billing items:
Instance specifications: Migrations offers five specifications: MICRO, SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE, and XLARGE. Different specifications correspond to different prices and performance levels for data migration tasks. For more information, see Data migration specifications.
Source cloud vendor: The cloud vendor selected for the source of the data migration task.
Source region: The available region selected for the source of the data migration task.
Target cloud vendor: The cloud vendor selected for the target of the data migration task.
Target region: The available region selected for the target of the data migration task.
Network modes: Migrations service provides three different network modes. The system can automatically switch to the appropriate network mode based on the user's data migration task configuration.
Local network: When the source and target cloud vendors are identical, and the source and target regions are exactly the same, the local network mode is used by default.
Cross-region network: When the source and target cloud vendors are different, or the source and target regions are different, the cross-region network mode is used by default.
Public network: Regardless of local or cross-region. If either the source or target database connection configuration uses a public IP, the public network mode is used by default.
Note
Even if the source and target regions are exactly the same, but the cloud vendors are different (e.g., source is Alibaba Cloud Beijing region, target is Tencent Cloud Beijing region), the system will use the cross-region network mode instead of the local network mode.
Billing methods
The billing logic for Migrations service varies slightly depending on the network mode, as detailed below.
| Network Type | Billing Model | Billing Logic |
