After configuring a data migration task, you need to purchase a data migration instance to run the task. This topic introduces how to purchase a data migration instance.
Limits
Only data migration tasks in the Not Purchased state support purchasing data migration instances.
Users with the project role of Project Owner, Project Admin, or Data Service Admin are supported to purchase data migration instances.
Procedure
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud Console.
In the left navigation pane, click Data Services > Migrations.
On the Migrations page, click the Migrate Data tab.
On the Migrate Data tab, click Purchase after the target task.

You can also click the name of the target task to enter the details page, then click Purchase in the upper right corner.

On the Purchase a data migration instance page, confirm the Migration Task Information, and in the Instance Configuration area, select the required Specification.
Different instance types correspond to different incremental synchronization RPS performances and recommended maximum number of table objects to be migrated. For more information, see Migrations specification. For pricing and billing for data migration services, see Migrations billing.
In the Summary area on the right side of the Purchase a data migration instance page, check I have read and agree to the OceanBase Cloud Service Agreement and OceanBase Cloud Data Migration Service Level Agreement.
Click Confirm Order and wait for the instance purchase to complete. You will be redirected to the details page of the data migration task.
If you chose to start the task immediately after purchase when creating the data migration task, the task will be in the Running state.
If you chose not to start the task immediately after purchase when creating the data migration task, the task will be in the Not Started state, and you will need to manually start it.
