This topic provides the instructions on creating an instance through Huawei Cloud Marketplace.

Step 1: Subscribe to OceanBase Cloud services in Huawei Cloud Marketplace

  1. Navigate to Huawei Cloud Marketplace (KooGallery) and sign in with your Huawei Cloud account.

  2. Search for OceanBase in Huawei Cloud Marketplace, and on the search result page, click OceanBase Cloud.

  3. On the details page, click Enable Now.

  4. On the purchase details page, check your subscription information, check the boxes to agree to the terms and conditions, and then click Enable Now. A message will pop up on the page notifying that subscription task has been submitted successfully.

  5. On the same page, click Return to My KooGallery, which will redirect you to the Purchased Apps page to view your subscription.

    Note

It may take a while for your subscription to appear on the page. If you do not see your subscription, please wait a few minutes and then refresh the page.

  6. Locate your subscription, and click View Resource Details in the Operation column.

  7. Under the Application Information section, copy the username and password, and click the URL under Frontend URL to navigate to the OceanBase Cloud console. Then log in to the OceanBase Cloud console using the copied username and password.

    Note

If you have already signed up for an OceanBase Cloud account using the same email as your Huawei Cloud Marketplace login, Huawei Cloud Marketplace will not generate a password for you. You can log in to the OceanBase Cloud console directly using the email and password you set when signing up for your OceanBase Cloud account.

Step 2: Create your OceanBase Cloud instance

  1. After logging in to the OceanBase Cloud console, in the pop-up dialog Link OceanBase Cloud Organization to Your HUAWEI CLOUD Billing Account, check the checkbox at the bottom and then click OK to link your Huawei Cloud account to your OceanBase Cloud account.

  2. Navigate to the Instances page of OceanBase Cloud, click Create Instance displayed on the page.

  3. On the Create Instance page, choose Dedicated (Transactional) under Instance Type.

  4. Choose the deployment region.

  5. Choose your instance specifications.

    Configuration Description
    Version The OceanBase database version.
    Deployment Mode
    • Single-IDC Deployment: All nodes are located within the same zone. This deployment supports both two-node and three-node configurations within a single IDC. If you require this setup, please contact OceanBase technical support.

Dual-IDC deployment offers the same availability as multi-IDC deployment but with significantly improved cost efficiency. The dual-IDC deployment option is supported in versions 4.1.0.0 and later.
    • Multi-IDC Deployment: Primary and standby nodes are located in different zones, enabling disaster recovery across zones. This deployment comes at no additional cost and by default, all three zones are selected.
