Create an instance through AWS Marketplace

This topic describes how to create an instance through AWS Marketplace.

Step 1: Subscribe to OceanBase Cloud on AWS Marketplace

1. Go to AWS Marketplace and log in with your AWS account.

2. Search for OceanBase in AWS Marketplace and click OceanBase Cloud on the search results page.

   

3. On the OceanBase Cloud page, click View purchase options.

   

4. On the Subscribe to OceanBase Cloud page, click Subscribe to go to the OceanBase Cloud console.

   

Step 2: Create an OceanBase Cloud instance

1. Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console with your OceanBase Cloud account.

   Notice

   If you don't have an account yet, you can click Sign Up to create one.

2. Click Create Instance on the page.

3. On the Create Instance page, select Dedicated (Transactional) as Instance Type.

4. Select a deployment region.

5. Configure the instance specification.

   Parameter	Description
   Version	The version of OceanBase Database.
   Deployment Mode	Single-IDC Deployment: All nodes are located in the same availability zone. Two or three replicas are supported in a single IDC. If this configuration is required, contact OceanBase Technical Support. Dual-IDC Deployment: Two nodes are deployed in two availability zones, and the third node is deployed in another availability zone, used only for log synchronization and not providing read/write services. Dual-IDC deployment provides the same high availability as multi-IDC deployment while significantly improving cost-effectiveness. This deployment mode applies to versions 4.1.0.0 and later. Multi-IDC Deployment: Primary and standby nodes are deployed in different availability zones, enabling cross-availability-zone disaster recovery. This deployment incurs no additional cost; all three availability zones are selected by default.
   Zone	Single-IDC Deployment: Select 1 availability zone. Dual-IDC Deployment: Select 2 availability zones. Multi-IDC Deployment: Select 3 availability zones.
   Compute/Storage	Different compute specifications support different storage capacities. Choose based on your business needs.

6. Choose whether to enable data encryption.

   If you choose to enable data encryption, you can select one of the following key methods:

   • Default Key: Use the default encryption method.
   • Custom Key: Provide the ARN of the KMS key. For more information, see Manage KMS keys.

   Notice

   After data encryption is enabled, you cannot disable this feature.

7. In the Quantity section, select the number of instances you want to create.

8. In the Summary section on the right, confirm the configuration and complete the payment to finalize the purchase.

   After the purchase is complete, you can return to the Instances page to view the creation progress.
