Dear OceanBase Cloud Customer:
Thank you for your continued trust in and support for OceanBase Cloud.
To continue providing stable and high-quality OMS data migration services, OceanBase Cloud plans to discontinue the limited-time free support policy and begin charging eligible limited-time free OMS instances from 00:00 on September 20, 2026 (UTC+8). Details are as follows.
1. Background
Before the commercial launch of OMS, OceanBase Cloud provided certain users with limited-time free OMS instances to support their data migration and synchronization requirements. As OMS has entered commercial operation, this limited-time free support policy will be discontinued.
OMS instances continuously consume computing, network, and data transfer resources during operation and require ongoing product maintenance and service support. To ensure the stable operation and continued development of OMS, the relevant limited-time free OMS instances will be billed in accordance with the currently published billing rules.
2. Billing Details
- Billing Effective Time: 00:00 on September 20, 2026 (UTC+8).
- Instances Subject to Billing: From the Billing Effective Time, the following limited-time free OMS instances will be subject to billing:
- Limited-time free OMS instances in the Running state at the Billing Effective Time.
- Limited-time free OMS instances in the Stopped state at the Billing Effective Time that have been stopped for no more than seven days.
- Limited-time free OMS instances in the Failed state at the Billing Effective Time that subsequently return to the Running state.
- Billing Method: Relevant instances will be billed on a pay-as-you-go, postpaid basis according to the current published prices for the OceanBase Cloud international site. For details, see:
- OMS billing rules
- OMS pricing details
Actual charges may vary depending on the source and target cloud vendors and regions, instance specification, network mode, and usage duration. Please refer to the OceanBase Cloud console and your actual bill for the final amount.
- Service Impact: This billing adjustment only changes the billing rules and will not affect the normal operation of OMS instances or their existing migration and synchronization tasks. Except as expressly stated in this notice, all other service matters remain subject to the applicable service agreements and published rules.
3. Managing Your OMS Instances
Before the Billing Effective Time, please review the relevant OMS instances under your account based on this notice and the separate notifications sent to you through in-app messages or email. You may continue using instances that are still required or release instances that are no longer needed.
- Continue Using an Instance
No additional action is required. If the relevant instances continue to operate after the Billing Effective Time, you will be deemed to have agreed to the billing rules described in this notice, and the resulting charges will be included in your account bill.
- Release an Instance
If the relevant data migration or synchronization tasks have been completed and the instances are no longer required, please verify and release the instances before the Billing Effective Time to avoid further charges.
Risk Notice: Releasing an OMS instance is irreversible. Once released, the instance and its associated data migration or synchronization tasks will be terminated and cannot be recovered. Before releasing an instance, make sure that the relevant tasks have been completed, the data status meets your expectations, and the release will not affect business continuity. Do not release the instance if it is still required for data migration or synchronization.
If you have any questions, please contact OceanBase Cloud Support or your account manager.
We remain committed to providing stable and transparent products and services. Thank you for your understanding and support.
