This topic introduces the specifications and performance of OceanBase Cloud Migrations, and how to upgrade or downgrade the instance specifications for data migration tasks.
Considerations
The specifications described in this topic are based on test data and are provided for reference only when selecting specifications. They can not be used as a basis for evaluating the product SLA (Service Level Agreement).
Different instance specifications correspond to different RPS performance for incremental synchronization and the recommended maximum number of table objects to migrate. OceanBase Cloud Migrations can achieve second-level synchronization to the target. However, due to various factors such as the source instance's operational load, network bandwidth, network latency, and target instance write performance, data migration tasks may experience increased latency and cannot guarantee second-level delay.
Terminology
Specification: OceanBase Cloud Migrations offers different performance specifications for users, measured by the number of synchronized records.
RPS: Represents the number of data rows incrementally synchronized to the target table per second. For example, if 5000 rows of data are incrementally synchronized from the source database to the target table per second, the RPS is 5000.
Table object: Represents the maximum number of tables recommended for migration in a data migration task, calculated based on a maximum of 50 fields per table object.
Specifications
OceanBase Cloud Migrations have five specifications: MICRO, SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE, and XLARGE, based on migration performance limits. The incremental synchronization performance limits for each specification can only reach the levels shown in the table below when the following conditions are met:
The pressure on the source instance is greater than or equal to the performance limit of each specification.
The write performance of the target instance is not a bottleneck and can support the performance corresponding to each specification.
The network latency between the source instance/target instance and OceanBase Cloud Migrations is less than or equal to 2 milliseconds.
If you are using a cross-city or cross-cloud network, the network traffic will be subject to traffic limits based on different specifications.
Specification Performance Limit (RPS) Reference Traffic Limit MICRO 300 0.3 MiB/s SMALL 3000 3 MiB/s MEDIUM 6000 6 MiB/s LARGE 12000 12 MiB/s XLARGE 25000 25 MiB/s Note
The online performance of specifications is affected by factors such as network, source instance and target instance performance, and latency. Actual performance may vary. The performance limits in the table are for reference only and are not within the scope of SLA commitments.
Modify configuration
For data migration tasks using the Intra-city Network or Proprietary Public Network network mode, upgrading or downgrading instance specifications is supported when the task is in the Running state and has entered the incremental synchronization step and this step is in the Running or Monitoring state.
For data migration tasks using the Inter-city Network network mode, upgrading or downgrading instance specifications is supported when the Full Migration or Incremental Synchronization step is running normally.
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud Console.
In the left navigation pane, click Data Services > Migrations.
On the Migrations page, click the Migrate Data tab.
On the Migrate Data tab, click ... > Modify Configuration after the target task.

You can also click the name of the target task to enter the details page, then click ... > Modify Configuration in the upper right corner.

In the Instance Configuration area of the Purchase a data migration instance page, select your desired Specification.

When upgrading instance specifications, incremental synchronization will be interrupted during the change process.
When downgrading instance specifications, please note that downgrading will reduce the maximum achievable RPS for current incremental synchronization, and incremental synchronization will be interrupted during the change process.
In the Summary area on the right side of the Purchase a data migration instance page, check I have read and agree to the OceanBase Cloud Service Agreement and OceanBase Cloud Migrations Level Agreement.
