You can connect to OceanBase Cloud using either a public or private network.
Use a private network connection
You can use the private network connection feature provided by OceanBase Cloud to establish a secure connection between OceanBase Cloud and your applications. Currently, OceanBase Cloud supports connections using AWS PrivateLink, Azure Private Link, Google Cloud Private Service Connect, Huawei Cloud VPC Endpoints, and Alibaba Cloud VPC. For specific procedure steps, see the following documents:
Use a public network connection
OceanBase Cloud supports creating IP allowlists to ensure only known IP addresses can connect to the database. For more details, see Connect using a public IP address.
Use a peering connection
Peering connections are used for direct communication between different VPCs. After establishing a peering connection, the two VPCs can access resources from each other as if they were in the same network. Currently, OceanBase Cloud supports configuring peering connections on Huawei Cloud. For more details, see Connect using a Huawei Cloud peering connection.
