OceanBase Cloud allows you to create alert rules and specify alert targets for each rule.
Procedure
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Alerts.
On the page that appears, click the Alert Rules tab.
On this tab, click Create Alert Rule.

Specify rule parameters and click Create.
The following table describes parameters of the alert rule.
Parameter Description Rule Name The name of the alert rule. Alert Target Type The options are Instance, Tenant, and Data Services. The alert metrics vary depending on the selected alert target type. - If you set Alert Target Type to Instance, you can select one or multiple instances, including transactional, analytical, and Key-Value instances.
- If you set Alert Target Type to Tenant, you can select one or more tenants under a transactional or Key-Value instance.
- Data Services include Data Archiving, Data Cleanup, Data Import, Partitioning Plan, and Data Migration. You can select the corresponding task as an alert target.
Alert Type - Metric: If you select this alert type, you need to specify Alert Trigger Condition, Alarm indicator, Alert Cycle, and Alert Frequency.
- Event: If you select this alert type, you need to specify Alert Event and Alert Frequency.
Configuration Method - Custom: If you select this method, you need to add metrics to configure custom alert rules.
- Use Template: If you select this method, you can use existing templates for quick alert rule configuration. For more information, see Create an alert template.
Alert Trigger Condition Select an operation mode for multiple metrics. Valid values: Meet Any Condition and Meet All Conditions. Alert Metric Select an alert metric from the Alert Metric drop-down list. For information about the definitions of alert metrics, see Monitoring metrics for custom alerts.
Then, specify the values of Comparison Value, Operator, Threshold for the selected alert metric.Add You can click Add to add more alert metrics. The system determines the operation results of multiple metrics based on the value of Alert Trigger Condition. Alert Cycle The alert detection cycle. The system periodically checks whether the alert meets the trigger conditions based on the specified period. The default value is 3 Consecutive Cycles(1 Cycle = 1 Minute). Alert Frequency The frequency by which the alert is triggered. Event The event that triggers an alert. The following table describes alert notification parameters.
Parameter Description Alert Notification Method You can configure the notification method for alerts of different levels. Alert Notification Content You can configure the alert notification template for different alert channels. For details about how to configure the alert notification template, see Create an alert notification template. Alert Notification Recipient You can select alert contact groups or alert contacts. For more information, see Alert contacts. Notification Effective Period An alert is triggered only within the specified period. Note
- The start and end times of the effective period are two time points on the same day, and the start time must be earlier than the end time. For example, you can specify 8:00 to 18:00 as the effective period. However, you cannot specify 23:00 to 6:00 of the next day as the effective period.
- The effective period supports only time points in hours, and does not support specifying the effective period by days or dates. For example, you cannot specify March 1 to March 15 as the effective period.
- If you do not specify the effective period, the alert rule takes effect throughout the day.
After the rule is created, you can view it in the rule list and manage it by using the Enable button and the actions in the Actions column.
