Create an alert rule

OceanBase Cloud supports creating alert rules and specifying alert targets for each rule.

Procedure

1. Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.

2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alerts.

3. On the page that appears, click the Alert Rules tab.

4. On this tab, click Create Alert Rule.

5. Configure the rule parameters.

   1. Rule configuration.

      Parameter	Description
      Rule Name	The name of the alert rule.
      Alert Target Type	Select an alert target. Different alert target types correspond to different options for alert metrics.
      Alert Type	Metric: When you select this alert type, you need to set the Alert Trigger Condition, Alert Metric, Alert Cycle, Alert Level, and Alert Frequency. Event: When you select this alert type, you need to set the Alert Event, Alert Frequency, and Alert Level.
      Configuration Method	Custom: You need to add metrics to configure a custom alert rule. Use Template: You can use an existing template to quickly configure an alert rule. For more information, see Create an alert template.
      Alert Trigger Condition	Select the operation method for multiple metrics. You can choose Meet Any Condition or Meet All Conditions.
      Alert Metric	Select an alert metric from the Alert Metric drop-down list, and set the comparison relationship, operator, and threshold for the selected alert metric. For more information, see Monitoring metrics for custom alerts. You can click Add to add more alert metrics. The system determines the operation result of multiple metrics based on the value of Alert Trigger Condition.
      Alert Cycle	The alert detection cycle. The system periodically checks whether the alert meets the trigger conditions at the specified cycle.
      Alert Level	Set the alert level. You can choose Info, Warning, or Critical.
      Alert Frequency	The frequency at which the alert is triggered. You can choose alert only once or Repeat.
      Alert Description Configuration	You can customize the alert description content, which supports variable placeholders.
      Alert Event	Select a specific event to trigger the alert.

   2. Notification configuration.

      Parameter	Description
      Alert Notification Method	Configure the notification method for alerts of different levels. The default notification method for alerts of all levels is Email + Webhook.
      Alert Notification Content	Configure alert notification templates for different alert channels. For detailed instructions on configuring alert notification templates, see Create an alert notification template.
      Alert Notification Recipient Type	Select the alert notification recipient type as Alert Contact Group or Alert Contact.
      Alert Notification Recipient	You can select an alert contact group or an alert contact. For related configurations, see Alert contacts.
      Alert Notification Effective Time	Alerts are triggered only within the configured effective time of the rule. Note The start and end times of the effective time refer to two points in the same day, and the start time must be earlier than the end time. For example, it can be from 8:00 to 18:00. Specifying a time range across midnight (for example, from 23:00 to 6:00 the next day) is not supported. The effective time only supports hourly time points and does not support specifying by day or date, such as from March 1 to March 15. If the effective time is not specified, the alert rule is effective throughout the day.

6. Click Create. After the rule is created, you can view it in the rule list and manage and maintain it through the enable button and the actions column.
