You can change the configuration of an instance to meet temporary scaling needs.

The temporary configuration change feature applies only to Alibaba Cloud instances.
Considerations
Before you change the configuration of an instance, note the following considerations:
When an instance is in temporary capacity, you cannot perform standard configuration changes, set storage auto-scaling, add standby instances, or change the deployment mode.
After you change the configuration of an instance, the incremental costs incurred during the configuration change are billed by the hour. You can view the costs on the order page.
If the temporary configuration is changed again to the original configuration, the temporary configuration change is ended and no incremental charges will be incurred.
Changing the configuration of an instance may cause brief service interruption. We recommend that you perform this operation during off-peak hours.
Prerequisites
You have the project owner or project admin permissions.
The instance is in the Running state.
Procedure
Change the configuration temporarily
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, find the target instance and click ··· > Temporary Config Change in the Actions column.
On the page that appears, select the configuration type to change.
Parameter Description Full-featured Replicas The number of full-featured replicas. Compute and Storage - Compute: The specifications of the compute resources to change temporarily.
- Storage: The specifications of the storage resources to change temporarily.
In the right-side Summary section, verify the billing information, check the service agreement, and click Confirm Order.
After the temporary configuration change task is completed, the instance resources are in the Temporary Capacity state. To restore the instance to the original configuration, you can change the configuration of the instance again.
Convert temporary configuration to permanent
After you change the configuration of an instance, the instance resources are in the Temporary Capacity state. To fix the configuration, you can convert the temporary configuration to permanent.
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, find the target instance and click ··· > Convert to Permanent in the Actions column.
On the page that appears, check the configuration and billing information. After you confirm the information, click Confirm Order.
