The OceanBase Cloud console provides high-availability and high-performance backup features, supporting data backup for OceanBase clusters.
Backup Methods
OceanBase supports the following two backup methods:
Backup Strategy:
Automatically back up data periodically based on a preset strategy. You can set a weekly full backup at a fixed time. Log backup and periodic cleanup of expired data are also supported. After creating a backup strategy, backups are automatically executed regularly. You can also pause or restart the backup schedule.
Immediate Backup:
Manually perform a one-time backup. Immediate manual backup cannot be performed if a full backup is in progress or if the backup strategy is disabled.
Procedure
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, find the target instance, click its name, and go to the Instance Workspace page.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup.
On the Backup page, click Data Backup.
On the Data Backup tab, view an overview of all executed backup tasks, including Backup Set ID, Backup Object, Backup Type, Restorable Time Point (UTC+8), Start Time (UTC+8), End Time (UTC+8), Backup Duration, File Size, Data Backup Mode, Execution Method, Validity, Progress, and Status. You can view the task progress through the progress percentage.
Note
For clusters between OceanBase V4.0.0 and V4.2.0, displaying task progress is not currently supported.
Related Operations
Cancel Task: When a data backup task is in the Preparing or Running state, click ··· > Cancel Task in the Actions column to cancel the backup task.
Download: When a data backup task is in the Completed state, click ··· > Download in the Actions column to download the backup set as prompted.
Note
- Backup set download is an allowlist feature. To enable it, contact OceanBase technical support.
- The backup download feature is suitable for datasets with a size of less than 5 TB. For datasets larger than 5 TB, this feature is not recommended due to the long download time and the higher risk of timeout or interruption.
