In addition to scheduled backup policies, OceanBase Database also supports manually initiating a one-time data backup immediately. Immediate backups are subject to the backup policy. When the backup policy is disabled, you cannot perform an immediate backup.
Note
- OceanBase Database performs major compactions by default once a day. However, if the business write volume is high, multiple major compactions may be triggered. After each major compaction, OceanBase Database can only support one successful data backup. If the data backup succeeds, attempting another backup before the next major compaction will result in a backup failure.
- Manually performing a backup only affects data backup tasks and does not impact log backup tasks.
Procedure
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, find the target instance, click the instance name, and go to the instance Overview.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup.
In the upper-right corner of the page, click Create Backup.
In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
Result
On the Data Backup tab, view the details of the manually created backup task, including Backup Set ID, Backup Object, Backup Type, Restorable Time Point (UTC+8), Start Time (UTC+8), End Time (UTC+8), Backup Duration, File Size, Data Backup Mode, Execution Method, Validity, Progress, and Status. You can view the task progress through the progress percentage.
