This topic describes how to apply for and manage common permissions when you perform database changes.
Apply for database permissions
Log in to the Web version of ODC. In the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Tickets.
Click Create Ticket > Database Permission Application.
In the Database Permission Application dialog box, specify the following parameters:
Parameter Description Project The project to which the database belongs. After the permissions are applied, you can manage the permissions in the project. Database The database for which you want to apply for permissions. Permission Type - Query: the permission to execute query statements.
- Export: the permission to create an export ticket and an export result set ticket.
- Update: the permission to create a database change ticket (including import, data simulation, database change, shadow table synchronization, SQL plan, partition plan, data archiving, and data cleanup) and the permission to execute update statements in the SQL window. The execution of update statements in the SQL window is subject to the security configuration.
Validity Period The validity period of the permissions after they are applied. Reason The reason for applying for the permissions. Click Create to submit the ticket for applying for database permissions.
In the Database Permission Application page under the Permissions section, click View in the Actions column to view the Task Information, Task Progress, and Task Logs of the target ticket.
After the permissions are approved, the permissions take effect. You can then perform database maintenance operations as needed.
Apply for project permissions
Log in to the Web version of ODC. In the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Tickets.
Click Create Ticket > Project Permission Application.
In the Project Permission Application dialog box, specify the following parameters:
Parameter Description Project The project to which the database belongs. After the permissions are applied, you can manage the permissions in the project. Project Role The role of the project. Different roles have different permissions. - DBA: has all the permissions in the project except for member management, message configuration, and project settings. It also has the permissions to view and manage all tickets in the project.
- Developer: has all the database permissions in the project. It can log in to the database, execute SQL statements, submit tickets, and view and manage all tickets in the project.
- Administrator: has all the permissions in the project. It can view and manage all tickets in the project.
- Participant: can view the basic information of the project. By default, it has no database permissions in the project. It can apply for database permissions and submit tickets, and view and manage all tickets in the project.
- Security Administrator: has the permissions of a participant and can manage sensitive columns.
Reason The reason for applying for the permissions. Click Create to submit the ticket for applying for project permissions.
In the Project Permission Application page under the Permissions section, click View in the Actions column to view the Task Information, Task Progress, and Task Logs of the target ticket.
After the permissions are approved, the permissions take effect. You can then perform project management operations as needed.
Apply for table/view permissions
Log in to the Web ODC console. In the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Tickets.
Click Create Ticket > Table/View Permission Application.
In the Table/View Permission Application dialog box, specify the following parameters:
Parameter Description Project The project to which the database belongs. After the permissions are approved, you can manage the permissions in this project. Table/View The table or view for which you want to apply for permissions. Permission Type - Query: the permission to execute query statements in the SQL window.
- Export: the permission to create an export ticket.
- Update: the permission to execute update statements in the SQL window. Whether you can execute update statements is constrained by the security specification configuration.
Validity Period The validity period of the permissions after they are approved. Reason The reason for applying for the permissions. Click Create to submit the ticket.
On the Table/View Permission Application page, click View in the Actions column of the target ticket to view the Task Information, Task Progress, and Task Logs of the ticket.
After the permissions are approved, the user can manage the tables and views.
Manage project member permissions
After you apply for permissions, you can manage the permissions in the project member management page.
Log in to the Web ODC console. In the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Projects.
In the project list, click the name of the target project.
On the project page, click Members.
On the Members tab, click Manage Permissions in the Actions column of the target member.
On the Manage Permissions page, you can view and revoke the permissions.
