Modify tenant names

This topic provides instructions on modifying the name of a tenant under a cluster instance.

Prerequisites

The target tenant must meet the following requirements before the modification:

• The target tenant is in the "Running" state.
• The cluster instance to which the target tenant belongs is in the "Running" state.

Procedure

You can modify the tenant name in 3 places on the OceanBase Cloud console:

1. On the instance list page, expand the target cluster instance and select ... > Edit Name under the tenant.

2. On the Overview page of the tenant, select ... > Edit Name under the tenant.

3. On the Tenants page, select ... > Edit Name in the Actions column of the target tenant.

Here, the third option is used as an example to illustrate the specific steps of updating a tenant name.

1. Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

2. Click the name of the target cluster instance to navigate to the Overview page of the instance.

3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Tenants.

4. On the Tenants page, select ... > Edit Name in the Actions column of the target tenant.

   Notice

   • The tenant name can only contain uppercase and lowercase English characters, digits, and underscores (_). It cannot contain spaces.
   • The length cannot exceed 20 characters.
   • The name must start with an English character or underscore (_).

5. After entering a new name for the tenant, click OK.
