When business needs change and an instance is no longer required, you can release the instance from the Instances page. After a trial customer releases an instance, it will not be possible to create a new one.
Prerequisites
Before releasing a standby instance, ensure the following conditions are met:
The standby instance is in the Running state.
All tenants within the cluster are in the Running state.
Your account role must be Project Admin.
Usage notes
The release operation will delete all data in the instance, and all data migration and scheduled tasks will be terminated. Please proceed with caution.
After the standby instance is released, the primary instance can no longer switch to the current standby instance, which may pose a risk to service availability.
If the released standby instance is the last standby instance under its primary instance, the primary instance will revert to a regular instance after the release.
It is not allowed to release a primary instance directly. After all associated standby instances have been released, you can refer to Release an instance for instructions on releasing the primary instance.
Procedure
You can release a standby instance through the following two methods:
Method 1: Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console, and on the Instances page, click Release next to the target instance.
Method 2: Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console, and in the upper-right corner of the Overview page of the instance, click the More icon and select Release.
The following procedure uses Method 2 as an example:
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
From the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, find the target instance, and click the instance name to enter the Overview page of the instance.
In the upper-right corner, click the More icon and select Release.
In the confirmation dialog, enter release and click Release to complete the process.
