Time zone settings

This topic describes how to set the time zone by using the OceanBase Cloud console.

Background information

Unlike traditional databases, cloud databases deployed on cloud platforms offer higher flexibility and scalability but also introduce complexity in time zone settings. Additionally, some features provided by OceanBase Cloud, such as data major compactions, backups, and restores, require correct time zone settings to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Prerequisites

You have the project owner, project admin, and organization admin permissions.

Usage

• If you have never set a time zone, the OceanBase Cloud console will use the time zone of your browser.

• If you have set a time zone, all time-related features in the OceanBase Cloud console will be displayed based on the set time zone.

Procedure

1. Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.

2. Click the icon in the upper-right corner of the page and select User Preferences.

3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Time Zone.

4. Select the desired time zone and click Save.
