Create a database

This topic describes how to create a database in the OceanBase Cloud console.

Procedure

1. Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

2. On the instance list page, click the name of the target cluster instance to navigate to the Overview page of the instance.

3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Tenants.

4. On the Tenants page, click the name of the target tenant in the Tenants list to go to the Overview page of the tenant.

5. On the Overview page of the tenant, click Create Database and set the following parameters as needed.

   Parameter	Description
   Database Name	The database name. It cannot be set to a reserved keyword such as SYS.
   Character Set	The character set to be used in the database, which can be UTF8MB4 or GBK.
   Remarks (Optional)	The remarks on the database, which cannot exceed 30 characters in length.
