On the Database Proxy page, you can view the basic configuration information of the proxy, the proxy endpoints, and perform operations such as creating public and private network connections.
Prerequisites
- You have created an instance and a tenant. After a tenant is successfully created, the proxy service is automatically enabled for the tenant.
- Project admins and instance admins can configure and delete public and private endpoints, while project members can only view the database proxy information.
View proxy basic information
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, click the name of the target instance to enter the Overview page of the instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Database Proxy.
You can view the database proxy information of each tenant under the instance.
Note
The database proxy of AWS channel instances has been optimized and upgraded in the current version. The database proxy of other channels will be gradually improved in the future.

Change proxy cluster configuration
Change proxy cluster configuration for AWS channel instances
Log in to the OceanBase Cloud console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
In the instance list, click the name of the target instance to enter the Overview page of the instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Database Proxy.
On the Database Proxy page, click ··· > Change Configuration in the Actions column.
In the dialog box that appears, change the following configurations and click Update.
Configuration Item Description Proxy Cluster Specification Type You can choose choose between Shared and Exclusive. - Shared: The database proxy cluster shares compute resources with other customers. This applies to businesses with stable and average traffic.
- Exclusive: The database proxy cluster exclusively uses compute resources. You can scale up the database proxy resources based on actual business demands. This applies to businesses with substantial traffic. For more information, see Database Proxy billing.
Proxy Cluster Deployment Mode You can choose the single-zone deployment, dual-zone active-active deployment, or dual-zone primary-standby deployment. - Single-zone deployment: All nodes are deployed in the same zone and all nodes handle traffic.
- Dual-zone active-active deployment: Nodes are deployed in two different zones and both zones handle traffic.
- Dual-zone primary-standby deployment: The ODP nodes are deployed in two different zones. The nodes in one zone handle traffic, and the nodes in the other zone serve as cold standby nodes. When you choose the dual-zone primary-standby deployment, select the same zone as the client for the primary zone of the proxy cluster. Requests from the standby zone may be disconnected when the deployment mode is changed in the proxy cluster or the database cluster, which triggers the zone to go offline.
Note
The dual-zone primary-standby deployment is supported only for Exclusive.
Proxy Cluster Nodes The number of proxy cluster nodes. Target Node Zone(s) The node zone. Note
If the zone of the primary endpoint proxy is different from that of the tenant, traffic forwarding across IDCs will occur, which may increase the SQL response time.
Node Specification Select the target specification. Shared and Exclusive specifications have different limits and increments.

- Exclusive: The database proxy cluster exclusively uses compute resources. You can scale up the database proxy resources based on actual business demands. This applies to businesses with substantial traffic.
- Shared: The database proxy cluster shares compute resources with other customers. The specifications are fixed based on the customer's actual instance size. This applies to businesses with stable and average traffic.
