This topic describes how to apply for and manage common permissions during database changes.
Apply for database permissions
Log in to Web ODC. In the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Tickets.
Click Create Ticket > Database Permission Application.
In the Database Permission Application dialog box, specify the following parameters:
Parameter Description Project The project to which the database permissions belong. After the permissions are applied, you can manage the permissions in this project. Databases The databases for which you want to apply for permissions. Permission Type - Query: the permission to execute query statements.
- Export: the permission to create an export ticket and an export result set ticket.
- Change: the permission to create a database change ticket (including import, simulate data, database change, shadow table synchronization, SQL plan, partition plan, data archiving, and data cleanup) and the permission to execute change statements in the SQL window. The execution of change statements in the SQL window is subject to security configuration.
Permission Expiration Policy The validity period of the permissions after they are applied. Reason for Application The reason for applying for the permissions. Click Create to submit the ticket.
In the Database Permission Application page, click View in the Actions column to view the Basic Information, Task Progress, and Logs of the target ticket.
After the ticket is approved, the permissions take effect, and you can perform database maintenance operations.
Apply for project permissions
Log in to Web ODC and click Tickets in the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window.
Click Create Ticket > Project Permission Application.
In the Project Permission Application dialog box, specify the following information:
Parameter Description Project The project to which the database permission belongs. After the permission is applied, you can manage the permission in the project. Role The role of the project. Different roles have different permissions. - DBA: You can view and manage all tickets in the project and manage all permissions in the project except for member management, message configuration, and project settings.
- Developer: You can log in to the database, execute SQL statements, submit tickets, and view and manage all tickets in the project.
- Manager: You can view and manage all tickets in the project.
- Participant: You can view basic project information, view all tickets in the project, and manage tickets initiated by yourself. By default, you have no database permissions in the project. You can apply for database permissions and submit tickets.
- Security Administrator: You can manage sensitive columns in addition to the permissions of a participant.
Reason for Application The reason for applying for the permission. Click Create to submit the ticket.
On the Project Permission Application page, click View in the Actions column to view the Basic Information, Task Progress, and Logs of the target ticket.
After the ticket is approved, the permissions take effect, and you can perform the corresponding project management operations.
Apply for table/view permissions
Log in to Web ODC and, in the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Tickets.
Click Create Ticket > Apply for Table/View Permissions.
In the Apply for Table/View Permissions dialog box, specify the following parameters:
Parameter Description Project The project to which the database belongs. After the permission is applied, you can manage the permission in this project. Table/View The table or view for which you want to apply for the permission. Permission Type - Query: The permission to execute query statements in the SQL window.
- Export: The permission to create an export ticket.
- Change: The permission to execute change statements in the SQL window. The execution of change statements in the SQL window is subject to the security specifications.
Permission Expiration Policy The validity period of the permission after it is applied. Reason for Application The reason for applying for the permission. Click Create to submit the ticket.
In the Apply for Table/View Permissions section, click View in the Actions column to view the Basic Information, Task Progress, and Logs of the target ticket.
After the permission is approved, the user can manage the table or view.
Manage project member permissions
After you apply for a permission, you can manage the permission in the project member management page.
Log in to Web ODC and, in the left-side navigation pane of the project collaboration window, click Projects.
In the project list, click the name of the target project.
In the project interface, click Members.
On the Members tab, click Manage Permission in the Actions column of the target member.
In the Manage Permissions dialog box, you can view and revoke the permission.
