Purpose
You can call this function to return the length of a string. A multi-byte character, for example, a Chinese character or a full-width character, counts as one character.
Syntax
LENGTH(char)
Parameters
char is a string of the CHAR, VARCHAR2, NCHAR, NVARCHAR2, or CLOB data type.
Return type
The return type is NUMBER.
Examples
The following example returns the length of the string OceanBase.
