The DB_VERSION stored procedure returns the version information of the database.
Syntax
DBMS_UTILITY.DB_VERSION (
version OUT VARCHAR2,
compatibility OUT VARCHAR2);
Parameters
| Parameter | Description |

| version | The internal software version of the database, which is a string such as 2.3.0. The length of the string is variable and is determined by the database version. |
| compatibility | The database compatibility, which is specified in the init.ora file. If this parameter is not specified in the init.ora file, NULL is returned. |
