This topic describes the resources required to deploy OceanBase Cloud Platform (OCP) on a single node. It helps you get started with OCP. To deploy OCP in the test and production environments, see OceanBase Database Deployment Guide.
Hardware requirements
The following table lists the minimum hardware requirements for an OCP-Server node.
| Hardware | Minimum requirement |
|---|---|
| CPU | |
| Memory | 64 GB available |
| NIC | 10 Gbit/s NIC |
Operating system requirements
| Server type | Operating system | Supported versions |
|---|---|---|
| x86_64 | RHEL | 7.2 and later |
| x86_64 | CentOS | 7.2 and later |
| x86_64 | AliOS | V7.2 and later |
| x86_64 | openSUSE | 12 SP3 and later |
| ARM AArch64 | AliOS | V7.2 and later |
| ARM AArch64 | NeoKylin | 7.6 |
| ARM AArch64 | Huawei EulerOS | V2.0 SP8 |
Example
OCP is usually deployed by using Docker images. You can deploy OCP-Server, OCP-MetaDB, and OCP-MonitorDB on the same physical server. You can create different tenants in an OceanBase cluster for OCP-MetaDB and OCP-MonitorDB. The following table lists the resources required when you use OCP to manage 10 OBServers.
| Deployment item | CPU (core) | Memory (GB) |
|---|---|---|
| OCP-Server | 4 | 8 |
| OCP-MetaDB tenant | 4 | 8 |
| OCP-MonitorDB tenant | 4 | 16 |
| sys tenant | 5 | 28 |
Note
You can deploy the preceding items on a physical server with 24 CPU cores and 64 GB of memory. The physical server must be split into two Docker containers to run the OCP-Server and the OceanBase cluster required for deploying OCP. The system automatically creates the sys tenant in the OceanBase cluster, and you need to create a MetaDB tenant and a MonitorDB tenant in the cluster.
Open ports
| Deployment item | Listening port | Protocol | Modification | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OCP-Server | 8080 | HTTP | Set the server.port OCP system parameter and restart OCP. |
The web service of the OCP-Server listens to the port. In general, other components access OCP-Server through the IP address of SLB or DNS. |
| OceanBase cluster for OCP deployment | 2881 | TCP | Not supported | The SQL listening port of OBServer. |
