The following table describes the cluster parameters that controls syslogs.

Parameter name Default value Description
enable_syslog_recycle False Specifies whether to enable log file recycling.
  • True: enable log file recycling.
  • False: disable log file recycling.
enable_syslog_wf True Specifies whether to write syslogs above the WARN level to a .wf log file.
enable_async_syslog True Specifies whether to enable asynchronous writes for observer.log, elec.log, and rs.log.
max_syslog_file_count 0 The maximum number of log files that can be retained.
Each log file can occupy at most 256 MB of disk space. If this parameter is set to 0, no log files are deleted.
The value of this parameter is an integer. Value range: [0, +∞).
syslog_io_bandwidth_limit 30MB The maximum I/O bandwidth available for system logs. If this value is reached, the remaining system logs are discarded.
If the value is set to 0, the ERROR logs are disabled.
syslog_level INFO The level of syslogs.
Valid values: DEBUG, TRACE, INFO, WARN, USER_ERR, and ERROR.

Syslog-related tenant-level system variables:

  • ob_log_level: the level of session logs.

Syslog-related SQL hints:

  • You can use SQL hints to control statement logs.

Syslog-related semaphore:

  • You can use semaphore 41 to lower the level of node logs.
  • You can use semaphore 42 to increase the level of node logs.
