OceanBase Cloud Platform (OCP) allows you to manage alert messages. You can manage alert events, view the notification history, block alert messages, and filter logs.
Alert event management : When an exception occurs in a cluster, you may receive a large number of alert messages. In this case, if you want to view specific alert messages and perform statistical analysis on specific alert messages, you can manage alert events as needed.
Alert notification records : You can view alert notification records within 90 days. Alert notifications that are generated before 90 days are automatically archived.
Alert blocking : A bug that causes exception alerts may take a long time to be fixed. To prevent from frequent interruptions by these alerts, you can go to the Alert Blocking tab to block these alerts during a specific period.
Log filtering : OceanBase Database is a distributed database service. It provides three types of logs, including election logs election , control service logs rootservice , and operational logs observer . Log-based alerts of OceanBase Database are not triggered by alert rules. Instead, OceanBase Database monitors the three types of logs on server nodes and sends alerts when ERROR logs are detected. The physical machine environment and the system environment on nodes widely vary. As a result, ERROR logs may be misreported. In this case, you can configure rules on the Log Filtering page to filter these logs.
Background
The operation interface of OCP may vary with the version. The following describes alert message management on OCP V2.4.4. For operations on other versions of OCP, see the OCP User Guide of the corresponding version.
Manage alert events
Log on to the OCP console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose System Management > Alerts .
On the right of the Alert Events tab, click Show.
You can filter alerts by cluster, tenant, server, alert status, alert severity, and start and end time .
Alert Status can be set to All , Restored, Alerting, Blocked, Suppressed, or Expired . You can also enter an alert keyword in the Search box to filter alerts in a state.
