Before you deploy the OceanBase cluster, you must add the OBServer server to the resource pool of OceanBase Cloud Platform (OCP).
Background
The graphic user interface (GUI) varies with the OCP version. This topic takes OCP V2.5.0 as an example. For other OCP versions, see User Guide of the corresponding version.
Procedure
- Enter http://< IP address of the OCP server >:8080 in the address bar of the browser. Use the admin account to log on to the OCP console. The default password is root.
Note
To ensure account security, change the password after the first logon.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Host Management .
On the page that appears, click Add Host .
In the dialog box that appears, enter the server information.

The following table describes the configuration fields.
Field Description IP Address The IP address of the network adapter of the OBServer. SSH Port Default value: 22. Select Host Type If the required host type is unavailable for selection, you can click Create Host Type to add a host type. A host type is a label that you specify for hosts with the same configurations. We recommend that you specify a meaningful host type to facilitate host management. Select IDC Select the IDC where the server is deployed. IDC information includes IDC and Region . * Region specifies the geographical area where the host is located. A region can have one or more physical IDCs. * Region and IDC are the reference items for the load balancing and SQL statement routing policies of the OceanBase database. Set these fields based on the actual situation. Note In single-IDC deployment, the OBServers of the three zones are located on different racks. You need to enter the IDC name and a serial number as the IDC information based on the plan, such as yangqiao_1,yangqiao_2, and yangqiao_3. This enables you to set the servers on the same rack in the same zone when you create an OceanBase cluster. Type Host type. Select Physical Machine . Select Credentials Select the credentials used to remotely log on to the physical server. You can select Create Credentials from the drop-down list to create credentials. For methods of creating credentials, see the OCP User Guide. Host Alias A host alias is a label that you specify for hosts with the same configurations. We recommend that you specify a meaningful alias to facilitate host management. Description Host comments to facilitate host management.
- Click OK .
