The frequently used string functions include LENGTH, SUBSTR, CONCAT, UPPER, LOWER, LTRIM, RTRIM, and TRIM.
Note that in an Oracle tenant, the LENGTH function calculates string lengths in characters and the LENGTHB function calculates string lengths in bytes, as defined by the character set.
