About MySQL clients (mysql)

The sys tenant of OceanBase is compatible with MySQL and accessible through mysql.

mysql is a MySQL command-line (CLI) tool that must be separately installed. OceanBase tenants are compatible with MySQL and Oracle. When a tenant is compatible with MySQL, you can use mysql to connect to the tenant. Note

OceanBase Database supports the following MySQL clients: MySQL 5.5, MySQL 5.6, and MySQL 5.7.

After you connect to OceanBase, you can run some mysql O&M commands and SQL statements in the mysql CLI environment to run the following tasks:

• Calculate, store, and print query results

• Create database objects and check and modify object definitions

• Manage databases and modify parameters
