You can immediately trigger a major freeze when your cluster is idle. When an error occurs during a major freeze of the cluster, you can click Continue Major Freeze and clear the error flag to continue the major freeze after manually troubleshooting the error.
Trigger a major freeze
Log on to the OceanBase Cloud Platform (OCP) console. The Cluster Overview page automatically appears.
In the Clusters list, find the target cluster and click its name.
In the left-side navigation pane of the page that appears, click Compaction Management .
In the Last Major Freeze section of the Details of Major Freeze tab, locate the Basic Information section.
Make sure the Status is Idle , and click Initiate Major Freeze .
Continue the major freeze
When an error occurs during a major compaction of the cluster, perform troubleshooting and then click Continue Major Freeze to clear the error flag and continue the major compaction.

When an error occurs during a major compaction, we recommend that you contact a professional to verify the problem. If you clear the error flag without troubleshooting the error, the error scope may expand.
