validate_password_special_char_count

Description

validate_password_special_char_count specifies the minimum number of special characters that must be included in a user password.

Privilege requirements

• Query variables

  sys tenants and all user tenants can query the value of Global system variables by using the SHOW VARIABLES statement or the SYS.TENANT_VIRTUAL_GLOBAL_VARIABLE view (Oracle mode) or the information_schema.GLOBAL_VARIABLES view (MySQL mode).

• Modify variables

  • sys tenants can directly modify the value of Global system variables.

  • MySQL user tenants must have the SUPER or ALTER SYSTEM privilege to modify the value of Global system variables.

  • Oracle user tenants must have the ALTER SYSTEM privilege to modify the value of Global system variables.

This variable takes effect only when the value of the validate_password_policy variable is MEDIUM.

Examples

Set the minimum number of special characters in a user password to 1.

obclient> SET GLOBAL validate_password_special_char_count = 1;
