FFLUSH

2024-12-02 03:48:27  Updated

The FFLUSH stored procedure flushes buffered data to a file.

Applicability

This topic applies only to OceanBase Database Enterprise Edition. OceanBase Database Community Edition provides only the MySQL mode.

Syntax

UTL_FILE.FFLUSH (
file  IN FILE_TYPE);

Parameters

Parameter Description
file The active file handle returned by the FOPEN or FOPEN_NCHAR stored procedure.

Exceptions

  • INVALID_MAXILINESIZE

  • INVALID_OPERATION

  • INVALID_FILENAME

  • WRITE_ERROR

Considerations

The FFLUSH stored procedure writes only data terminated with a newline character to the file. Data that is not terminated with a newline character is retained in the buffer.

To call the FFLUSH stored procedure, you must have the w privilege on the file; otherwise, the INVALID_OPERATION exception will be thrown. If the data length of the buffer exceeds the maximum line length specified by FOPEN, the INVALID_MAXILINESIZE exception will be thrown.
