This topic describes how to create a backup strategy for a cluster to be backed up and enable secondary backup in the backup strategy. Secondary backup can be started after you submit the backup strategy. Secondary backup in OceanBase Cloud Platform (OCP) means to back up backups.
You can use one of the following methods to start a secondary backup in OCP:
Method 1: Perform a secondary backup in OCP without creating a backup strategy for the target cluster
You can perform a secondary backup on a cluster in OCP. For more information about the operation, see Perform a backup for clusters in OCP.
Method 2: Create a backup strategy for the target cluster before you perform a secondary backup in OCP
If you have created a backup strategy, you can enable secondary backup.
Procedure
On the Backup and Recovery page of the required cluster, move the pointer over ... in the upper-right corner and select Modify Backup Strategy to go to the Modify Backup Strategy page.
Enable and configure secondary backup.
Note
When you enable secondary backup, the log splitting feature is automatically enabled by default.
Configure scheduling settings for a second backup task.

Configure storage settings for a second backup task.

Note
The backup files of secondary backup and regular backup tasks must be restored at different locations. A secondary backup task backs up the existing backup files and ensures that an OceanBase database can be restored when disasters affect the backup data of a regular backup task.
Click Submit. The backup strategy is created.
