This topic describes how to manage users in the OceanBase Admin Toolkit (OAT) console. You can manage users by performing the following operations in OAT:

  • Create a user
  • Modify a user
  • Delete a user

Prerequisites

Before you manage users, make sure that the following conditions are met:

  • You have installed OAT. For more information, see Install OAT.
  • You have logged in to OAT as a super administrator.

Create a user

You can create users of different roles based on your business requirements.

Procedure

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Systems and Security > User.

  2. In the upper-right corner of the page that appears, click Create User.

  3. On the Create User page, enter the user information.

    The following table describes the related parameters.

    Parameter Description
    Username The username of the user to be created.
    Password The password of the user. You can manually enter a password or click Randomly Generate to generate a random password. The password must be 8 to 32 characters in length and must contain at least one digit, one uppercase letter, and one special character. The following special characters are supported: . _ + @ # $ %.
    Email Optional. The email address of the user.
    Role The role of the user. Valid values: Super Administrator: A super administrator has all permissions. O&M Engineer: An O&M engineer has permissions to perform operations but does not have permissions on the User Management module. Monitoring Engineer: A monitoring engineer has permissions to view data but does not have permissions on the User Management module.
  4. Click Submit.

Change the password of a user

After you create a user, you can modify the email address and role permissions of the user.

Note

You cannot modify the role of the default admin user of OAT.

Procedure

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Systems and Security > User.
  2. Find the user that you want to modify and click Modify in the Actions column.
  3. On the Modify User page, modify the email address and role permissions of the user.

Delete a user

You can delete a user based on your business requirements.

Note

You cannot delete the default admin user of OAT.

### Procedure
  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Systems and Security > User.

  2. Find the user that you want to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.

    You can also search for the user by name in the search box.

  3. In the message that appears, click Yes.
