Release purpose

To further enhance the user experience of OceanBase products in operations and maintenance (O&M), this version offers full compatibility with IPv6 networks and officially supports Ubuntu v22.04 and v24.04, helping users build a more flexible and reliable O&M system.

Release overview

  • Release date: June 6, 2025

  • Previous version: v4.3.1

  • Current version: v4.3.2

New features

  • This release provides comprehensive IPv6 support, including host initialization, deployment of MetaDB (OceanBase Database V4.3.5 BP2) and OCP clusters with IPv6 addresses, as well as deployment of OAT on hosts with IPv6 addresses. This establishes a solid foundation for building fully IPv6-compatible system environments.

  • Full compatibility with Ubuntu v22.04 and v24.04.

  • Support for OMS v4.3.5 and OCP v4.3.6.

  • Added kernel startup parameter checks during server initialization.

  • Container rebuilding is now handled as an asynchronous task, supporting image copying/loading and container reconstruction.

  • Introduced new system parameters:

    • oat.server.ignore_deps: specifies dependencies to skip during server initialization.

    • oat.product.backup_meta_timeout: controls the timeout for backing up product metadata SQL.

    • oat.server.warning_when_intel_numa_off: controls NUMA checks for Intel CPUs.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed errors in /etc/rc.local when adding servers running Ubuntu 22.04.

  • Fixed precheck errors when adding servers running Ubuntu 22.04.3 in OAT v4.3.1.

  • Resolved errors caused by excessively long remote file writes.

  • Corrected misconfigurations and misjudgments for ip_local_port_range and ip_forward in OAT v4.3.1.

  • Fixed inconsistency between the logic for setting vm.min_free_kbytes and the logic used during precheck, which previously caused precheck errors.

  • Fixed errors in metadata backup tasks during upgrades when OCP meta and monitor use different clusters.

  • Fixed "Unknown column 'is_default_cm' in 'where clause'" error when refreshing OMS product data.

  • Asynchronous tasks now check for the existence of the target container during product/component/tool installation or resource changes.

  • Added complexity validation for the initial OAT password.

Considerations

OAT 4.x versions only support in-place upgrades from OAT 3.2.0 or later. Products deployed with older versions of OAT or Antman can be migrated to a newly deployed OAT using the "Take Over Component" and "Take Over Product" features.
