This topic describes the processes of OceanBase Cloud Platform (OCP).

Process description

OBServer

This section describes business-related processes that run on an OBServer. Note

ocp_agent and ocp_monitor are not actual processes. They are two collections of processes. You can start or stop them by using the ocp_agent_ctl.py script.

  • After a host is added in OCP, the ocp_agent processes automatically start. Exceptions of ocp_agent processes may cause the host to become offline.

  • After an OBServer is deployed through OCP, the ocp_monitor processes automatically start. Exceptions of an ocp_monitor process may cause TopSQL monitoring, plan cache monitoring, or OceanBase log alerts to become unavailable.

Process Listening port Start-stop method Purpose and description
ocp_agentd - The process automatically starts when an ocp-agent process starts and automatically stops when it has no process to guard. It guards all the ocp_agent processes. You must stop the ocp_agentd process before terminating other ocp_agent processes. Otherwise, the ocp_agentd process will start them again.
pos_proxy 62888 Starts or stops along with the ocp_agent processes. Provides the OCP Server with the capability of running remote commands through RPC.
node_exporter 63000 Starts or stops along with ocp_agent processes. A third-party component for collecting host hardware specifications.
ocp_exporter 62889 Starts or stops along with ocp_agent processes. Depends on the node_exporter process to collect monitoring metrics of OceanBase services on the host, and provides an interface for the Prometheus exporter to obtain metrics.
obstat2 - Starts or stops along with ob_monitor. Monitors the top SQL and plan cache of the OBServer.
ob_logtailer - Starts or stops along with ob_monitor. Generates alerts based on OBServer logs.
ob_cleaner - Starts or stops along with ob_monitor. Clears OBServer log files.

OCP Server

This section describes business-related processes that run on an OCP server.

Process Listening port Description
ocp-server - Remotely manages the host and retrieves monitoring metrics. The startup of the ocp_exporter, obstat2, and ob_logtailer processes depends on the normal running of the ocp-server process.

OBProxy server

This section describes business-related processes that run on an OBProxy server.

Process Listening port Description
obproxyd - The daemon of OBProxy.
obproxy - Enables the OceanBase access proxy.
