This topic describes how to restart a zone. Restarting a zone restarts all OBServer nodes in the zone. Proceed with caution.
Prerequisites
You have logged in to OCP as a user with the following permissions:
- The Cluster Maintenance resource permission.
- The Overview menu permission of the cluster.
Your OceanBase cluster is managed in the current OCP cluster.
Otherwise, you need to use the current OCP cluster to take over your OceanBase cluster. For more information, see Take over a cluster.
You cannot restart a standalone cluster.
Procedure
Notice
If the zone to be restarted hosts the primary tenant replica, the tenant's business may be temporarily interrupted during the restart.
Log in to the OCP console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster. The Clusters page automatically appears.
In the Clusters list on the Clusters page, find the target cluster and click its name.
On the Overview page of the cluster, click Actions > More > Restart in the Zones section.

In the dialog box that appears, specify whether to perform a minor compaction before the OBServer nodes are stopped (the default is to perform a minor compaction), and click Restart.
A minor compaction prolongs the response time for stopping the OBServer nodes, but significantly shortens the time required to restore the OBServer nodes.
After the task is submitted, you can click View Tasks in the dialog box to view the task progress, or view the task progress in Task Center.
When the task status is Complete, and the status of the zone is Running in the Zones section of the Overview page of the cluster, the restart is successful.
