You can perform an immediate backup on a cluster. Logical backup only supports full data backup. Physical backup supports both full backup and incremental backup.

Procedure

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Backup & Recovery > Backup s . Then, click Back up Now in the upper-right corner of the page.

  2. Select the objects to be backed up.

Select the objects from the drop-down list. The system automatically identifies Backup Method and automatically populate the fields of Storage Configuration .

If the Backup Method is logical backup, you must first install the backup service. For more information, see Install a service.

  3. Specify Storage Configuration.

    • If the cluster to be backed up has a backup strategy, the fields of Storage Configuration are automatically populated.

    • Otherwise, you must manually specify the values.

You can specify the values as prompted or by following the instructions of Step 4 in Create a backup strategy.

After you specify the values, click Test .

Before a full backup, you must perform a major compaction. Otherwise, the following error is returned during the precheck: Cluster compaction needed before full data backup. For more information, see Perform a major compaction
