validate_password_check_user_name

Description

validate_password_check_user_name specifies whether a user password can be the same as the username.

Privilege requirements

• Query variables

  sys tenants and all user tenants can execute the SHOW VARIABLES statement or query the SYS.TENANT_VIRTUAL_GLOBAL_VARIABLE view (Oracle-compatible mode) or the information_schema.GLOBAL_VARIABLES view (MySQL-compatible mode) to obtain the value of a Global system variable.

• Modify variables

  • sys tenants can directly modify the value of a Global system variable.

  • MySQL user tenants must have the SUPER or ALTER SYSTEM privilege to modify the value of a Global system variable.

  • Oracle user tenants must have the ALTER SYSTEM privilege to modify the value of a Global system variable.

This variable takes effect only when the value of validate_password_policy is MEDIUM.

Examples

Set the user password to be different from the username.

obclient> SET GLOBAL validate_password_check_user_name = on;
