validate_password_number_count

Description

validate_password_number_count specifies the minimum number of digits in a user password.

Privilege requirements

• Query variables

  The sys tenant and all user tenants can query the value of Global system variables by using the SHOW VARIABLES statement or the SYS.TENANT_VIRTUAL_GLOBAL_VARIABLE view (Oracle mode) or the information_schema.GLOBAL_VARIABLES view (MySQL mode).

• Modify variables

  • The sys tenant can directly modify the value of Global system variables.

  • MySQL user tenants must have the SUPER or ALTER SYSTEM privilege to modify the value of Global system variables.

  • Oracle user tenants must have the ALTER SYSTEM privilege to modify the value of Global system variables.

This variable takes effect only when the validate_password_policy variable is set to MEDIUM.

Examples

Set the minimum number of digits in a user password to 1.

obclient> SET GLOBAL validate_password_number_count = 1;
