View details of a data synchronization task

After you start a data synchronization task, you can view the basic information, synchronization details, component monitoring metrics, and synchronization objects of the task on its details page.

Access the details page

  1. Log in to the OceanBase Migration Service (OMS) console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Data Synchronization.

  3. Click the name of the target data synchronization task to go to its details page.

    On the Data Synchronization page, you can search for data synchronization tasks by tag, status, type, or keyword. A data synchronization task can be in one of the following states:

    • Not Started: The data synchronization task has not been started. You can click Start in the Actions column to start the task.

    • Running: The data synchronization task is in progress. You can view the data synchronization plan and current progress on the right.

    • Modifying: The synchronization objects in the synchronization task are being modified.

    • Integrating: The data synchronization task of the modified synchronization object is being integrated with the synchronization object modification task.

    • Stopped: The data synchronization task is manually stopped. You can click Resume in the Actions column to resume the task.

    • Failed: The data synchronization task has failed. You can view where the failure occurred on the right. To view the error message, click the task name to go to the task details page.

    • Completed: The data synchronization task is completed, and OMS has synchronized the specified data to the target database in the configured synchronization mode.

    • Ending: The data synchronization task is being ended. You cannot edit a data synchronization task in this state.

    • Ended: The data synchronization task is ended. After the synchronization task is ended, OMS terminates the task.

View basic information

The Basic Information section displays the basic information about a data synchronization task.

Parameter
Description
ID The unique ID of the data synchronization task.
Synchronization Type The synchronization type selected when the data synchronization task was created.
Alert Level The alert level of the data synchronization task. OMS supports the following alert levels: No Protection, High Protection, Medium Protection, and Low Protection. For more information, see Manage alert settings.
Created By The user who created the data synchronization task.
Created At The time when the data synchronization task was created.
Incremental Synchronization Start Timestamp The synchronization start timestamp specified when the data synchronization task was created.
Connection Details Click Connection Details to view information about the connection between the source and target databases of the data synchronization task.

You can perform the following operations:

  • View component monitoring metrics

    Click View Component Monitoring in the upper-right corner to view the information about the Store, Full-Import, and Incr-Sync components and perform related operations.

  • View and modify synchronization objects

    Click View Objects in the upper-right corner to view the synchronization objects of the data synchronization task. You can modify the synchronization objects when the data synchronization task is running. For more information, see View and modify synchronization objects.

  • Clone a data synchronization task

    Click the More icon in the upper-right corner and select Clone from the drop-down list to clone the current data synchronization task. During the cloning process, you can modify the settings as needed.

  • View parameters

    Click the More icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings from the drop-down list. On the page that appears, you can view the parameters specified when the data synchronization task was created.

  • Download object settings

    OMS allows you to download the settings of data synchronization tasks and import task settings in batches. For more information, see Download and import the settings of synchronization objects.

View synchronization details

In the Synchronization Details section, you can view information on the Schema Synchronization, Incremental Synchronization Log Pull, Full Synchronization, and Incremental Synchronization tabs.

  • Schema Synchronization

    Schema synchronization creates a topic. After the schema synchronization is completed, you can query the new topic.

    You can view the status, start time, end time, total amount of time consumed, and progress of schema synchronization on the Schema Synchronization tab. You can skip failed schema synchronization tasks one by one. To skip multiple objects at a time, click Batch Skip in the upper-right corner.

  • Incremental Synchronization Log Pull

    You can view the status, start time, end time, total amount of time consumed, and progress of log pulling for incremental synchronization on the Incremental Synchronization Log Pull tab.

  • Full Synchronization

    Full synchronization aims to synchronize existing data from the source database to the target database. On the Full Synchronization tab, you can view the status, start time, end time, total amount of time consumed, progress, estimated total number of rows, number of synchronized rows, RPS, and real-time traffic of the full synchronization task.

    In the Full Synchronization Performance section, you can view the graphs of performance data such as the RPS and synchronization traffic of the source and target databases, average read time and average sharding time of the source database, and average write time of the target database. Such information can help you identify performance issues in a timely manner.

  • Incremental Synchronization

    On the Incremental Synchronization tab, you can view the status, latency, and current timestamp of incremental synchronization. Based on this information, you can learn about the running status and performance of the data synchronization task.

    When you create a data synchronization task, we recommend that you specify related information such as the alert level and alert frequency, to help you understand the task status. OMS provides low-level protection by default. You can modify the alert level as needed. For more information, see Manage alert settings.

    • When the incremental synchronization latency exceeds the specified alert threshold, the incremental synchronization status stays at Running and the system does not trigger any alerts.

    • When the incremental synchronization latency is less than or equal to the specified alert threshold, the incremental synchronization status changes from Running to Monitoring. After the incremental synchronization status changes to Monitoring, it will not change back to Running when the latency exceeds the specified alert threshold.

    The Incremental Synchronization Performance section displays the incremental synchronization information in real time. You can view the changes in synchronization performance in real time or by period, for example, by selecting Last 1 Hour, Last 24 Hours, Last 7 Days, or a specified period of time in the upper-right corner of the Incremental Synchronization Performance section.

    Parameter
    Description
    Latency The latency in synchronizing incremental data from the source database to the target database, in seconds.
    Synchronization Traffic When incremental synchronization starts, the traffic may contain the data traffic information of the full synchronization phase.
    Average Write Duration The average write time during data synchronization.
    RPS The number of rows written to the target database per second.

View component monitoring metrics

On the details page of the data synchronization task, click View Component Monitoring in the upper-right corner to view information about the Store, Full-Import, and Incr-Sync components.

  • You can view the component ID, earliest pull timestamp, current pull timestamp, and status of the Store component. You can perform the following operations:

    • Start a component: Click Start in the Actions column of the component that you want to start. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. You can start only a component in the Stopped, Exception, or Unexpected Exit state.

    • Stop a component: Click Stop in the Actions column of the component that you want to stop. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. You can stop only a component in the Running state.

    • Update a component: Click Update in the Actions column of the component that you want to update. On the Update Configuration page, modify the configurations and then click Update.

      Notice

      The system restarts after you update the component. Proceed with caution.

    • View logs: Click the More icon in the Actions column of the component whose logs you want to view, and select View Logs from the drop-down list. The View Logs page displays the latest logs. Archived logs are not displayed. You can search for, download, and copy the logs.

  • You can view the component ID, current pull timestamp, latency, and status of the Incr-Sync component. You can perform the following operations:

    • Start a component: Click Start in the Actions column of the component that you want to start. In the dialog box that appears, select Whether Reset Synchronization Timestamp and click OK. You can start only a component in the Stopped or Exception state.

    • Stop a component: Click Stop in the Actions column of the component that you want to stop. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. You can stop only a component in the Running state.

    • Update a component: Click Update in the Actions column of the component that you want to update. On the Update Configuration page, modify the configurations and then click Update.

      Notice

      The system restarts after you update the component. Proceed with caution.

    • Migrate a component: Click Migrate in the Actions column of the component that you want to migrate. In the dialog box that appears, select the target node and then click OK. You can migrate only a component in the Stopped state.

      OMS will obtain all servers in the resource group used by the current task. The Node drop-down list displays the nodes of the servers obtained.

    • View logs: Click the More icon in the Actions column of the component whose logs you want to view, and select View Logs from the drop-down list. The View Logs page displays the latest logs. Archived logs are not displayed. You can search for, download, and copy the logs.

    • Delete a component: Click Delete in the Actions column of the component that you want to delete. In the dialog box that appears, enter Delete to confirm your operation and then click OK. You can delete only a component in the Stopped or Exception state.

  • You can view the component ID, current progress, and status of the Full-Import component. You can perform the following operations:

    • Stop a component: Click Stop in the Actions column of the component that you want to stop. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. You can stop only a component in the Running state.

    • Rerun a component: Click Rerun in the Actions column of the component that you want to rerun. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. You can rerun only a component in the Stopped or Exception state.

    • Start a component: Click Start in the Actions column of the component that you want to start. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. You can start only a component in the Stopped or Exception state.

    • Update a component: Click Update in the Actions column of the component that you want to update. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

    • Delete a component: Click Delete in the Actions column of the component that you want to delete. In the dialog box that appears, enter Delete to confirm your operation and then click OK. You can delete only a component in the Stopped or Exception state.

    • View logs: Click the More icon in the Actions column of the component whose logs you want to view, and select View Logs from the drop-down list. The View Logs page displays the latest logs. Archived logs are not displayed. You can search for, download, and copy the logs.
