This topic describes how to view and modify system parameters.

Prerequisites

Before you view and modify system parameters, make sure that you have installed OceanBase Admin Toolkit (OAT). For more information, see Install OAT.

View system parameters

Procedure

  1. Log on to the OAT console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose System and Security > System Parameters. By default, the Parameters list displays all the modifiable parameters. You can use the page control in the lower-right corner of the list to go to another page or change the number of parameters displayed on a page.

  3. In the search box in the upper-left corner of the Parameters list, enter a keyword in the name of the system parameter that you search for. The system parameters whose names match the keyword are displayed in the Parameters list.

Modify system parameters

Procedure

  1. Log on to the OAT console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose System Management > System Parameters.

By default, the Parameters list displays all the modifiable parameters.

  3. Enter a keyword in the search box in the upper-right corner of the Parameters list and click Search.

The system parameters whose names match the keyword are displayed in the Parameters list.

  4. Click the Edit icon in the Parameter Value column of the target parameter.

The Modify Parameter Value dialog box appears.

  5. Click OK.

After you modify the parameters, check how the parameters take effect.

    • For parameters that take effect without a restart, the parameter modifications take effect immediately.
    • For parameters that take effect after a restart, you must restart the OAT server for the modifications to take effect.
